The 2018 star parties at White Memorial continue on Friday, May 18, with a new talk called “Earth’s Magnetic field”.

Ever wondered why a compass points North?  Why not South, or East?  We all learned that Earth has a magnetic field, but what does that mean and why is it important?

Talk starts in the AB Ceder room.  After the talk there will be stargazing if the weather permits.  Free; open to the public. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Dress warmly, as even in the summer it may be chilly.
